A protune is either dyno-tuning or road-tuning your car by a cobb certified tuner. There are off the shelf maps available from reputable tuners, like PDX tuning.

You can Street tune it yourself using Street-Tuner software available from COBB.

Flashed Stage 2 on Monday, drove it for the first time today(family got in the way of an immediate drive ) . Boost spIke!! I let off the gas when I saw 22psi! I need to hook up the AP for live boost on the way home and see what is going on...

Mods: AVO TBE, GPMoto equal length headers. The gauge was an Automoter electronic boost gauge.

Oh and I was one of the lucky to knock out the little plastic half moon in the valve cover.... 1 day job turned into a 3 day job! That is what you get when you hurry. Stupid irony...

Live boost won't read that high so that won't help you. Try a LWG realtime map and that should solve your issue. Same thing happened to me.

He's right ! The AP will only register up to 18.3 on boost.

Target boost is supposed to be 17.5 psi, 4th and 5th are good gears to test out whether or not your car is making the right amount of boost. To test mine I hooked up the AP and also monitored my factory boost gauge, start off at about 3k rpm's and go WOT, on the AP I see 17.2-17.8 maximum boost before it starts to taper down. The thing that really surprised me is that I see in the high 15 to low 16 psi range for second, and the full 17.5 or so psi in third (but only for a moment because the engine revs fast enough that the boost starts to taper). Make sure to test this out in a safe area as you will be accelerating WOT and have to take your eyes off the road momentarily to sneak peeks at the AP and/or your boost gauge.

Just installed the Cobb TBE catted and reflashed to Stage 2 yesterday, took me about 3 hours with a little help from my girlfriend, and I go a little worried when in all my excitement to drive it I had not noticed that I didn't bolt the BPV back onto the intercooler and needless to say the car didn't like that at all, but i brief stpo back at home to tighten the bolts on the BPV and I was on the road...It it awesome and the Cobb exhaust sounds mean with the 3in piping all the way down. Gotta love that boxer rumble...

So far i have concluded that the k/n typhoon intake is bad for stg 2 cars??? today im prolly gonna do a few run's in 4th and 5th to see what im actually boosting at... 1 bar is 14.5 psi correct? so 1.5 is like 21 psi??? Sorry for the confusion... my mod list is turboxs rfl-ti tbe with race pipe, k/n typhoon, cobb stg 2... i just hope that i didn't hurt anything motorwise... and hopefully it'll work out, or i may just spend the extra $300 and go get it protuned...

I recently installed the typhoon, completely shielded with air directed from the fog light.I had a helix catted tbe but switch the axle back to a bosal/spt.I think the response is great with a little back pressure in the exhaust.

Can any one with the Stage 2 and stealthback comment on if they've had any boost creep issues with that setup?

I have the TurboXS stealthback and a K&N Typhoon with my COBB Stage 2...its great.

Just had my Helix DP installed along with my Defi Gauges and CF gauge pod on Monday. Flashed AP stage 2 v1.10 when i got home and took her for a spin, I can really tell a difference in 4th & 5th gear.. pull a lot harder.. also i have yet to experience a boost spike.. stays at about 19.5 then tapers down.

Default need help with boost reading

ok here goes,to start with I have an 04 sti with a cobb catted D/P,and a stock cat back. Been running for two days with just the D/P seemed a little stronger and some what smoother. Today got an AP, flashed to stage 2 93 everthing went fine. Reads base map as what I wanted. Went for a ride and used the AP for boost reading it only seems to go to 10 psi max in all gears. I don't have an installed boost guage so this is the only reading I've ever gotten. Now I'm wondering if I've been missing even the stock boost for sometime. Also what should the AP read a idle in know it should be in vacum but just at idke it reads -9.5.I haven't had any cels or major problems with the car ever. I'm the original owner and bought it new. I've got 25,400 miles. Never really driven it that hard. Also noticed that if I try to switch to a stage 2 93 hwg real time map the AP still says that the current map is stage 2 93. Should it say HWG? The car still seems fast but not what I was expecting from going stage 2.I'm realy starting to think that something is wrong with the turbo or maybe the wastegate isn't closing and I'm bleeding out boost.I could use any advise or ideas. thanks, Chris
