For all the stage II peeps with a COBB catted DP; do you hear a sort of breathing/ whooshing sound while driving? Not super loud, but definitely audible the entire time while driving without the radio on. I always assumed this was just the exhaust gases going through the high flow cat but I just want to be sure I am not the only one hearing sounds like these. I made sure all the bolts were super tight, and the sound has been there since the initial install. Thanks in advance for your help with this!

I don't think it is the wastegate; that would be an even steady sound. This sounds more broken, like air passing though a screen with different diameter holes if that makes any sense. It's almost like a breathing sound. I had my car tuned at Agile and nobody said anything about it, and I am sure it is fine. I just want to make sure other people noticed this new sound after installing their COBB DP's.

My car ran pretty rich with the OTS stage 2 and the walbro 255. I gained 10 whp and 30 awtq after the protune.

So far, the car is very very torquie, almost too torquie.......I'm wondering if I need to get re-tuned or just need to learn how to drive it again.

My max torque is 286 @ 3750, before it was 257 @ 4000.

Has anyone noticed their engine idling just a tad rougher after stage 2/tune?

My mods: Titek catted DP, stock catback, Blitz drop in filter, walbro 255.

Any input appreciated.

It is a wastegate code. It means the wastegate isn't able to keep up with the boost at that given moment. (boost creep)

The sound is there usually when I am just humming along on the highway maintaining my pace with traffic (zero boost or vacuum), so it can't be the wastegate. Normal driving like when you are moving along, cars slow in front of you so you take your foot off the gas, then slowly start accelerating again. That sort of thing.
So I guess since no one else with a COBB catted DP hears anything more than normal engine noises, then I am the only one experiencing this? I guess I will get under there today and have someone give her some gas and see if I notice anything. I would think that during my Protune if this was an issue I would have been notified of the problem. I think I may be just bugging out, and maybe not enough people have checked this thread. I appreciate everyone's help so far though.

It is interesting. I got protuned 2 weeks ago and I can hear the turbo more now after 2 weeks, as well as the intake.

Ofcourse the weather got much cooler here in Northern California.

so i got my cobb ap the other day and flashed it to stage 2. im still only boosting 12-13 psi. so i tried the stage 2 map it says to use if you cant reach the desired boost. still 12-13 psi. isnt the stage 2 map supposed to get 17-18 psi? at least thats what i read on the map notes on cobb's site. im running HKS turbo back with no cats and a typhoon intake. now if i run an electronic controller to reach 17-18 psi it will be safe since i have the stage 2 map? thanks for any suggestions. sorry for the long post..........

thats kinda weird if you boosting that low.. im running a invidia catless dp and the g200 and im pushing 18.4 psi on stage 2..

have you try asking this question on the cobb forums... COBB Forums - Powered by vBulletin

it also can be the intake take off the intake put your stock back on and see what happens...

well i bought the car used and it already had the intake on it. haha guess i might be looking for one now. i just dont get why its not boosting more. i can tell the car is a little quicker and running smoother, just not boosting more.

another i just noticed. the car had a manual boost controller on it when i got it. i took it off and set everything back to stock. my friend and i were looking at cobb's write up on how the factory boost control solenoid works. we found out im missing the restrictor pill in one of the lines. could this be causing my problem?

just got my AP in yesterday and looking to reflash my ecu settings today right after installing the TBE...do you have to download the map into the AP or does it already have it in there? (I want to be able to have the newer map version with 93 octane rating for relashing my ecu map settings to). And does anyone know if the AP program runs well with windows vista?? thanks for any help
