What kind hp gains can you expect from a protune with a stage 2?

Gains you can expect from protune in STG2 is this:

Way better torque and horsepower, car doesn't run as rich as Cobb's off the shelf maps. Its more smoother, and boost is def raised up, prob around 19 to 20'ish PSI, where Cobb's Stg2 is about 18.5 maybe a little higher. (Can't remember). But a protune def smooths everything out, and tweaks all the mods you have done, where the Cobb's stg2 is just a: Hey I have a TBE and want it not to shoot flames (If its catless). Protune is def worth. Word to the wise, INSTALL EVERYTHING YOUR WALLET CAN HANDLE before the protune. This way you get the most out of the tune, ie: Meth Injection, APS Headers, etc. Just about everything helps when the car gets tuned, even if its 1hp, its better than none.

I went from 290awhp(Stage II OTS) to 325awhp with a protune. That is with a catted DP only. Well worth the investment.

So is it better to get only the Cobb downpipe (not full Cobb TBE) and Access Port, and use the money you save by not getting the full Cobb TBE (500 or so bucks) towards a Protune?

That's the route I'm going. Then, when I have more money, a catback would be nice too. This is off this subject, but I am only boosting 17 psi on my stage 2 base map. Is this too low for stage 2? I feel like the boost should have increased and I was making 17.5 at one point with stage 1.

My Cobb catted DP was installed today, and already, the car is more amazing than ever. Next Tuesday, I'm getting Protuned w/ a new Cobb AP2. Any ballpark HP figures of what I should be netting with a Helex Ti catback, Cobb catted DP, and a K&N Typhoon?

Cannot wait to be in the Stage 2 club!!!

This was the route I was going to go (I have the catted downpipe), but I finally came to the conclusion that I should get the catback section before the Protune or I would be kicking myself later... I managed to find one in great condition used for $450. I've got to say, adding the catback made a much bigger difference than I was expecting. It pulls much harder in 1st and 2nd gears, and with the stock exhaust I had to use the HWG map to make full boost, but with the Cobb catback I can use the "standard" map to make the same boost. There is also quite a bit more throttle response as well. It's a bit louder when you get on the throttle, but not obnoxious. I'm getting Protuned tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to that!

where did you get the helix titanium exhaust???
i was in the market, but i couldn't get one, so i ended up getting helix stainless steel catback instead (i wanted the consistent brands to ensure that fitment is accurate).

I totally agree. I have postponed my ProTune until I get a few more parts. Even though the OTS Cobb Stage II map is running rich it is plenty power from completely stock to Stage II. I just want to enjoy the power for now and focus on other things...like suspension.

Default For alot of people wondering if the protune is worth it

Heres a road tuned dyno plot between Cobbs stage 2 (APv2) and Protuned Stage 2 (Protune by ED of EQ tuning) on my 06 STI w/BPM TBE and K&N intake. The throtle response is alot better than cobbs map, and the car just pulls like crazy now. I am very satisfied with the results.
