You always wonder just how much improvement there really has been. It's hard to be objective. I can positively feel my car pull harder - no doubt about it. Just how much of an improvement there was I'll never really know. Do I care? I'm not sure. It'd be nice to know the numbers. It's more fun to drive and that's the most important thing. Was it worth the $$? Absolutely.

BTW, I didn't have the option of putting on a dyno because he tuned mine in Tampa and there wasn't a dyno available. If I could've, I probably would have paid a little more to see the actual measurable results on the dyno charts.

When everyone here switches over to stage 2 do you all reconect the testers and do a base map reflash or just load it in real time. I wonder cus I live at college and don't have a garage I can leave it in for half an hour unwatched.

WXRTSI - just sit in the car it's more like 20-25 minutes. bring some homework you're in college you should have some of that.

I am going stage two either Thursday when the dp comes in or next Tuesday night after work. I can't wait. I am going with the full Cobb TBE catted. It's going to be great and I already emailed Hill from Agile since that is where I think I want to go for my protune. I can't however decide if I want to get protuned now or wait until spring.
What other supporting mods have most of you done for protune, ie. one step colder plugs, fuel pump, intake, selonoid, etc..? This is the end of the line for power adders so I want to do it right the first time.

Stage II is a downpipe and some sort of engine management (IE Cobb Accessport, ECUtek)

^^I hope ur kidding, but if not it is in short the tool that is used to run the propper AFR in accordance with higher boost, which is made possible due to downpipe.

I have been stage two since last Thursday and I have to say I really havn't had a chance to really wring it out but it does obviously feel faster in the 4-6 gears. I am pretty sure in 5th and 6th I am hitting target boost. I will datalog the car tonight to see how she is running now at stage two after about 300 miles of ecu learning.
I did the Cobb catted downpipe install in about 5 hours, at least 3 of which I spent trying to get the Cobb catback hangers onto the group N rubber hangers I have and get the damn cobb heat shield screws in. I did't remove the intercooler and got the downpipe off in about an hour. It was a breeze with a flex heat ratchet with about a 10 inch handle so it acted a little like a breaker bar too. I installed a new gasket between turbo and downpipe just to be safe. I will check back in with info from datalogging later.

I have an 04 STi, stage 2 with a few extras... Cobb intake w/ SPT heat shield and perrin charge pipe, turbo xs catless turbo back exhaust w/ 4 inch downpipe, perrin electronic boost control solenoid, perrin crank pulley, worx tuning engine ground kit, braille auto racing lightweight battery, cobb access port + protune with over 6 hours of actual in car tuning on the dyno, its about as fine tuned as can be. 300 AWHP and 330 AWTQ on 91 octane and a very conservative reading dyno. Car's also got a kart boy short throw shifter/ bushing combo, a-spec weighted titanium shift knob, ACT HD Pressure Plate/Pro clutch kit, STi flywheel, perrin radiator shroud, cusco front and rear sway bars and strut bars with the v brace add on in the trunk, whiteline anti lift kit, poltec adjustable endlinks on the swaybars, Do-Luck 8 point aluminum subframe, whiteline steering rack bushings and rear diff bushings, kart boy exhaust hangers, Sti group N motor mounts, tranny mount, pitchrod stopper, Stop Tech slotted brake rotor upgrades front and rear, stainless steel braided brake lines, ferodo DS2500 race pads, BFG G-Force KD tires, ATE super blue brake fluid, Redline fluids for everything else except the tranny, which has the jdm extra-s fluid, and tinted windows
of course. There might be a couple of other things that I'm forgetting, but that's pretty much it I think. More mods on the way too! I'll post some pics soon!

man u guys suck lol i wish i was protuned im waiting for a upgraded jdm sti topmount and meth injection might get a 18g also idk yet might wait to build a motor first.and try and be happy with a protune for the time. but yea my best run this year was a 13.1 at 105 with a ****ty shift to 4th i bounced once in 3rd cuz i seen a pos mustang starting to catch up to me thats on stage 2 base map. with a perrin short ram intake witch i think was makin me lose top end and i had a waste gat helper spring on it to but it wasn't to heavy i notice waste gate flutter at higher rpm in 5th gear so i figured it would be ok for the 1/4 mile does anyone think i woulda ran a 12.9 12.8 with the stock air box and no helper spring??
