I have been a stage 1 for about a month now. I'm totally satisfied with the increase, but being the kind of guy I am I want stage 2 now! My only concerns are passing emmisions testing with a turbo back. When I had my turbo'd Rx8 with a full turbo back, I would just lean out the idle with the laptop and passed emmisions fine, but has this been a concern or a problem w/ any1 in the stage 2 club?

I guess you could always just throw a stock real time map on temporarily for the test or even economy map which could help some, but I guess it all depends whether you go catted or catless and just how good your cat is...but I think its the question thats on many people's minds however most that are running stage 2 are planning to throw stock TBE back on for the test and than revert back to aftermarket...this however does not sound like a sustainable solution to me so i guess i wont be going stage 2...and i guess we wont know the answer to your question until some time in 2010-2011 or unless someone decides to just go and get smogged for the heck of it right now...

will someone be willing to go and get their emissions system tested just for the heck of it? :-)

nah they hook it up to the obd2 port and get computer readings from the o2 sensors. I think at idle though it shouldn't be putting out anything funky, so maybe I could squeak by.

in CT all they do is plug the new cars into the computer and make suer you don't toss any codes. Well since the 02 is turned off with Stage 2 no worries there. Oh and my cat delete has the heat shield welded onto it so it looks like a cat.

The more I think about it the less of a problem it is. The car will be at idle so it should be fine. Now the other thing I'm worried about is the $1000 for the turbo back!

I'm finally Stage 2...and loving the torque increase! I'm running the cobb downpipe mated to the stock catback..and the fitment was excellent. Im looking forward to the cobb catback soon also.

I've been running with a Helix DP and Greddy SP2 exhaust for awhile now with no EM. I finally got my hands on an AP and loaded the stage2 map. Much nicer

I joined the club last Friday with a Perrin catless DP and Accessport Stage II. Very noticable improvement, especially in the lower RPMs. It's a nicer drive all around - "smooth" seems to be the word of choice in this thread and I'd have to agree.

Gettin' a tune this afternoon and hope to squeeze out a little more. I can't wait!

The tune went awesome – what a difference! It feels like a different car now. Unfortunately it was a street tune. Since it wasn't on a dyno, I've got no numbers to substantiate what I can positively feel everytime I step on it. I get way more power down low in the RPMs (3k-3.5k RPM) and it's smooth all the way up to the redline. I love it!

Props to Scott Seigel for an awesome tune! Thanks, Scott!

I was talking to him on the phone while he was working on your car. Can't wait to come down there in Dec.

He said I'd probably be a street tune too, unless I wanted to pay for him to hook up the dynopack too.... Said there wasn't much need for the dyno for him to do a basic stage II protune, unless I want a number for number's sake.

Would it be worth it to pay more for a dyno run?
