Wondering if people have it and are at a stage two... any problems, dislikes, likes...etc.

I have a Typhoon and stage 2, with zero problems. Only buy the K&N though ! Good Luck ! Okey

Default Soon to join....

I have an '04 STi and soon to join the Stage 2 club. I currently have an HKS Carbon Ti catback, Invidia Dp (soon to be installed, and then flashed to Stage 2), Cobb AP, AVO 50/50 bov, a Blitz dual turbo timer/boost gauge, and an APS 65mm CAI (not yet installed). Now, I've seen a bunch of guys on here running the K&N Typhoon intake. Some seem to have some small issues, and some don't. My question is, has anybody here run an APS 65mm CAI with a stage 2 set up? Any feedback or issues? Good idea or bad idea?

Just flashed the base map of a stage 1 93 octane to my ECU...
And currently using the stage 2 93 octane map...

I can't notice a difference at all from catless tbe with NO tuning.

I DID however have the negative terminal off because I put on a grounding kit on my car today as well...

So HOPEFULLY (I really really really really really really really hope) the ECU will learn and take advantage of the stage 2.....

But as of right now I can't feel a difference and my pocket book is $600 lighter :-(

I'm currently running Stage 1 but I had picked up a TurboXS catted Stealthback from my job which I got at an awesome price, but I decided to return it and hold off until I can afford a downpipe, protune, and install all at once. I've decided to go with a catted downpipe, probably either a Cobb or a Helix. I already have a K&N Typhoon which I don't plan on getting rid of, hopefully the protune will help everything work together without issues.
What would you guys recommend, the Cobb or Helix DP to work best with a Genome axleback and pro-tune?

I thought I was the only one running a Blitz SUS intake. Had thoughts of getting rid of it, but should be fine with a protune so decided to keep it.

Flashed the shelf map today.. Currently with an INJEN Intake, INJEN Downpipe, and the Agency Power Ti catback exhaust.

I was worried about running stage 2 with my intake but performance gains so far have been very responsive and smooth. I need to log the data and make sure I'm hitting target boost indefinitely though. I'll post the results some time tomorrow or this week!

By the way, a 6.0 GTO rolled up on me. I decided I'd test out the flash and do it from a roll. It wasn't anything serious, just a small kick, but once boost kicked in I was walking him with ease. Pretty shocked, actually he was pretty shocked, lol. He was cool about it though. Gave me the thumbs up and went on his way. No ricer antics, no excuses, no retry. Cool guy

So you're running stage 1 base map, with stage 2 realtime? And then you disconnected your battery?

Well that's why you don't feel any difference, you're back to stage 1 - your stage 2 realtime map got erased when you disconnected your battery.

Yo, I got my 06 STI about a month ago... With 3,500miles on it. Its almost at 5,000 miles now!
<O
Anyways I flashed stage 1 about a week after I got the car and didn't notice too much of a difference.<O</O
<O</O

Then about a week after than I put a Invidia Catless DP on to stock catback and flashed stage 2 93octaine.

I really notice the difference in terms of how fast the boost comes on. Spools up much faster! Also noticed that peak boost stays on longer and much higher than stock....<O</O
<O</O

However, I must say, that I'm not sure if I really feel a difference in power... I know its faster than stock, and does feel faster, I just don't feel like its crazy faster.... as some people talk about....<O</O
<O</O

Everything else is stock on the car except an aftermarket Fram AirHog air filter (Which no one seems to use... seems like everyone uses a K&N. Any reason for this?? Are Fram air filters no good?? I here they are pretty much exactly the same as K&N....)
<O</O
<O</O
I live in Canada and don’t think there are any Cobb Tuners around…. So that’s not an easy option….<O</O
<O
<O
Anyways, just my comments and observations.... <O</O
<O</O

I do notice the 50 foot black tire marks on the street when stepping on it in second…. (not burning out, just the tires gripping/wearing!!!)
<O</O
<O</O
Anyone have any rebuttals about not really feeling a huge difference with stage 2?<O</O
<O
Maybe I have just gotten used to stage 2???<O
<O
If that’s the case….. Then…….<O</O
<O
Sucks to be me….!!!!!<O</O

No one has anything else to say??

I'm still not feeling like Stage 2 is anything special!

Anyone else with the same feeling?

jay, flash it back to stock. drive it around for a week. then flash back to stage 2 and let us know if there's not much difference.

i feel a big difference, the car SCREAMS when you get on the boost, the tach climbs way quicker than stock...

I have a question for Stage II people in California, is it necessary to run the Stage II California map over the Stage II 91 octane map? And what is the difference between the two maps?
