Thumbs up Cobb stg 2 STi Protuned by HM Results

I just got Cobb Protuned today by Harman Motive in Torrance, CA. The car feels a lot smoother on acceleration. I love the 95 octane map! It feels more powerful than before. I am happy with the torque results.

Stock STi's get around 240whp, 250tq at this dyno.

Engine Mods:
BPM GT 3" tbe with one high flow cat.
K&N OEM air filter.

Results:
With Cobb "off the shelf" (v1.10) Stage 2 91 tune with silencer: 276.98/308.86
ProTune 91 oct (with silencer installed): 286.21/328.46.
Did a run with the Protune 91 oct map as is without silencer installed: 289.51/316.54
ProTune 95 oct (no silencer): 307.16/343.55

What's the Difference? Both Cobb Stg 2 w/91, but different numbers?

Just wondering because I might go in a week or two.

i think one is a custom tune and the other is the tune that comes with the Cobb

"Did a run with the 91 oct map without silencer installed: 289.51/316.54"

Was this prior to the tune or after the tune? Great numbers nonetheless!

Nice numbers.

It is interesting for me to note that the numbers that are on the Cobb website correspond to what you are finding for your off the shelf map. Nice to find that that Cobb believes in truth in advertising.

Also nice to see the improvement with protuning as I am getting tuned myself in a few weeks. Any idea how conservative these maps are, do you know the AFRs?

Congrats.

After the tune for 91. We removed the muffler silencer tip and got those numbers.

The tuner is going to email me my dyno viewer files so that I can get all the data.

Whats full spool hit, 3k? Its a nice torque curve as well, pretty flat and slowly trailing down to redline (when the turbo starts to die out). Driveability must still be pretty good with that curve.

But I still find the numbers a little hard to believe, any reason why A/F ratio's werent included on the chart? Id like to see if he's tuning for 12:1 AFR's

His numbers seem true. I was also tuned there a few months ago altho my dyno sheet came with AFR. MY AFR was 11:1 give or take a few threw out the range. So im guessing about the same with subyfi

The loss in torque after the silencer was removed is kind of surprising. Is there a simple explanation for that that I am missing. Sweet numbers though, exactly as imagined with a protune.

That is pretty strange that you would lose torque with a free'er flow.... Doesn't make sense.

Nice results, too say the least.

Feels like a whole new car now, doesn't it?
