This isn't a question for the Street Tuner sub-forum, so I moved it.

The Cali stage 2 map is for 91 octane fuel. If that is the fuel you run, that is the map you need to use.

Its just they also have a regular 91 octane stage 2, then they have a special one for ca. I didn't really feel that much pwr from my ap.

Ah, okay. I took a look at the map download page and I see what you mean now. Cali must have a different fuel than the rest of the country. If you don't find an answer here I'm sure the Cobb forums would be able to help.

more than likely they created one because some people's cars pinged with the standard 91 octane map. I never had a problem with the reg. 91 map, but I also didn't notice a difference in power between the 91 & ca 91...

i once emailed Cobb about this.
they didn't tell me what the difference is, but their reply was something like:

"if you have no problems with the regular 91 octane map, then there is no need to switch to the california map"

Generally speaking, the CA91 maps usually have boost targets set and tuned for a little less boost pressure, a little less ignition advance across the torque plateau, and a slightly richer fuel curve. From the testing we have performed we found the CA91 octane to be different than other 91 octane fuels across the U.S. The CA91 maps should be a little less powerfull than the regular 91 maps.

Take care,
Christian.
