Default RE: Color combinations

Looked through the cobb manual last night for anything on valet mode because unfortunately my car needs to go the body shop this week. I dont trust anyone with my car, so I want my accessport in valet mode. Is it a base map already on my accessport? How does it work really...features? Im afraid to change the map, I hate to lose any learning the ecu has done. But I sure the hell dont want my car in the hands of an idiot.

Make them sign a contract stating the odometer on arrival, then your backed and can prove if they drive it around. Although, I have no idea what you could get, it would be hard to prove abuse if nothing breaks (though something might break in the future because of their reckless driving.)

well doesn't a real time map only work right when you flash it on, drive around...then after you turn it off, it reverts back to base map?

the realtime map is lost if the ecu is reset. so unless they unhook the battery, they can start the car 1 million times and the real time map will still be there.

they will unhook the batt at a body shop.

Also, I'd want them to drive it. depending on how much work they did, there will be issues. Better to have them resolved while you still have a rental. When I got T boned in my Legend Coupe, I had he service manager, a 50+ yr old married guy, drive my car for a week to resolve any issues. He found several.

Most of the body shop workers I know doesn't care much about car performance. They just want to get the job done and go on to the next one. Body shops are always backed up. There's so much work to do and they're always pressed for time. I wouldn't worry too much about them taking your car for a joy ride.
Another thing to do would be to put a masking tape on the gauges and write in bold letters "Odometer miles documented" and write the actual miles in there. That would make them think twice about driving it..
