Quick AP question

My Dad's bone stock 08 has check engine light, flashing cruise light, and stuck in S mode. I was wondering if I could use my AP that is married to my 08 and pull a code off his for research into what might be going on. Also if this is possible, would I be able to clear the code as well?

Yes, you can look the code up and even reset the ECU. The check engine light will cause the ECU cruise light to flash and the SI-Drive system to sit in S mode.

Hmm, threw two codes. P2440 and P1410. Its weird that these two would cause him to go into S mode only (safe/limp mode) with cruise flashing and check engine light.

His car is bone stock except for some Volk wheels. It seems from posts I'm reading that every car that has had these codes pop up was Stg1 or better.
