Default ECU after BOV installed?

Hey guys I'm currently new to the forum and I have been researching this question for awhile. I'm currently buying a sti today and I want to install a BOV in the car in the future. Now I have been getting mixed answers on this. I know the sti runs on the electronic controlled ignition system. Now I have been told I had to get the ecu flashed for the BOV so it won't stall out. Is that really true? Thanks for an answers I can get on this.

Yes, u need a tune with an aftermarket bypass/blow-off valve. There are probably over 50 threads on this forum asking the same question. Use the *!SEARCH!* feature next time.

Search. There are several BOV threads discussing the "pros" and cons.

Read this before you create a new thread about BOVs (Blow-off valves)

FIXED.

You dont need a tune for an Aftermarket BPV - As long as your running the right spring in there.

I bought a 50/50 BOV and I didn't need to re-flash. The car idles just as it did with the stock BPV on her.

I bought the Agency Power 50/50 BOV, some people don't like Agency Power but so far I think it was totally worth the cash.

To tune a BOV... you would need to invest about 1500...

Ap 600 + tune using speed density if you find a tuner Another 500.

Stand alone Ecu 1600 onwards.

To run a BOV with out any negative effects you need speed density. Search that term and you will understand.
