IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2007 | Hello I've searched the forum, everyone agree that a Protune is better than an OTS map when going stage 2. Better hp/tq, better reliabilty. However, is it relatively safe to run a stage 2 OTS map for a long, long time ? I have no Protuner in my area, and actually I am a happy stage 1 OTS map user. Thanks for your experience ! If anyone is still on a stage 2 OTS map for months or years, I'd like to know ! |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2006 | The OTS map is perfectly safe as long as you are running the proper mods and fuel to go with it. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2007 | Really ? In other threads, some people were saying that even with a good catted downpipe and correct octane rating fuel, the map would be very lean and dangerous on the long run for the engine... |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2008 | Watch out for "Know it all's". Plenty of them on here. My 07 has 7000 miles on an ots stg 2 v104 map. Typhoon, Cobb tbe work well together. Yea, 8154 miles on an 07, sucks to be me |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2006 | Well if you are really worried then you could get some gauges, a protune, or both. I still say the OTS map is safe. Judging by what people post on here there are a lot of people that don't run the right mods to go with the map which IMHO causes the majority of problems. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 | It really all depends, some cars take to the OTS map better than others. Thats the good part about data logging. Load the map and just do some data logging and make sure your not pulling timing, knocking and hitting the correct boost target for that map. ALSO run what the maps notes say nothing more. For example, don't run a CAI with OTS maps from COBB because they are not meant to. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2007 | Generally, if you have the exact mods that the OTS tune requires the tune is going to be within 80-90% of maximum compatibility. Further fine tuning can be done as well if your tuner does log review or custom tuning. I've had a few road tunes that were only 3-4 small revisions away from running perfect off my OTS maps. |

| S204 Racer Feedback Score: 10 reviews | the OTS maps were far from safe on my car. i was booting 2 psi above target and it was pulling up to 7 degrees of timing. i had to use the AP global timing retard function until i got it protuned. datalog it, don't take any chances! J. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2009 | I went stage 2 with a Cobb down pipe and no other mods. It was exceeding the boost target so I went and got a pro-tune. The tuner found that the OTS map was running dangerously lean. |
