I just installed the UTEC in my STi, trying to run stage 2 map with the stock exaust and turbox's intake. If I try to accellerate hard by 2-3 gear the engine cuts out and won't start up. It actually cut out once during an idle. Boost psi is about peak 14psi or so and everything else looks ok. I'm not getting CEL or flashing cruise. I can get it started back up by hooking up the ECU and then starting, and it does right away. Any ideas how to tune or find out what the problem/cause is? Any help is apreciated.

I was getting a similar problem, but my car just wouldn't run period....but I'll tell you what I did. I hooked up the UTEC and without the car started I called Nathan at TurboXS and he no joke talked to me on the phone for a little over an hour going through all the steps that might be wrong until we found the problem and it was fixed. In my case I had to open up the housing of the UTEC and move some jumpers on the motherboard because Nathan said that the distributor failed to configure some of the UTEC's for the STI in the last batch that TurboXS recieved. They are easy to get ahold of, just call him up and all will be fine.

P.S. (I had the problem I spoke of yesterday, so I know they will have time to talk to you today.)

Why are you running stage two with the stock exhaust? It's not made for that. You're supposed to run stage I.

Hahaha, hey bud...you might want to remove the UTEC and swap back the stock ECU since you're running a stock exhaust. The STi's motor out the factory is highly tuned and a pinch of modification can throw the stock ECU fits. Picture this, UTEC=downpipe, TBE. Stock=Stock ECU. Simple as that. Applying UTEC to a stock motor can cause mad problems...this of course is according to one of the best tuners in SouthernCali.

I figured it out, I had thought I could run the Stage 2 map with the stock exaust. I have the Turboxs intake already, just waiting for the exaust. I just got the utec so I figured I would get that install done first and out of the way before the exaust. I loaded up the stage 1 map and it runs great. As soon as I get the exaust bolted up i'll see what happends with the stage 2 map.
