IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I flashed to stage 1 this afternoon. Since my car is stock I chose the first map offered on the AP, 91 octane. Install went smoothly, and I have since put about 30 miles on the car. After warm up, the engine idles smoothly & steadily at exactly 500rpms. There have been no CEL warnings. I did not have the car dyno'd before or after the install, so my basis is only by "feel", or as you guys call it ..the butt dyno. I did find a gas station (Aloha Petroleum) that has 92 octane that I believe does not contain ethanol, so I filled 'er up. If their gasoline at this station does contain ethanol, they have not posted stickers on the pumps informing the public of that fact. The car pulls smoothly & powerfully thru all six gears. I am impressed by that. But here is the problem (or maybe not). There is still a slight surge in 6th gear when holding steady on the throttle at highway speeds. In 3rd gear, I noticed a surge much more prounounced than before I performed the reflash. While holding the throttle steady at exactly 2250rpms I thought I was on a bucking bronco. Did I use the wrong map? What could possibly be causing this? If I gottta live with it then so be it. But it just doesn't seem right. Any suggestions? Thanks Guys!! IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | When I reflash, I take it easy on the car for a while and then I go WOT very slowly. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I don't wail on it when the ECU is learning. I had no problems with Cobb Stage 1. Stage 2 has had a few hestitation spots at 3,000 rpm but they are intermittent. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I drove it the way I normally do after the reflash. I took it easy for a few miles and when she was warmed up I went thru the gears but no red lining. I put about 110 miles on since yesterday. I have been out driving all over the place hoping the ECU will get its degree. I was under the impression that a reflash with AP stage 1 would have cured the surging/bucking issue. Like I said earlier... its not something I can't live with but I sure was hoping it would go away for good. Maybe it needs more time. I don't know. If anything, I hope the AP has at least cured the lean running conditions innate to the '07's. |
