I think the car's stock rev limiter works just fine.

This is Bee*R’s popular two-stage ignition cutting rev-limiter. It is used to prevent damage arising from over-revving your engine. Part of the reason for its popularity is the large flames and loud bangs it produces from the exhaust when active!
Sounds like a waste of money to me for what seems to be solely rice.

If the OP is looking for launch control he might as well get the Cobb AP.

Well if you want to rise the rev limiter, which will net you noting, well you can use open source. And heed the warning ... on a stock turbo theres noting to look for after 6500 rpm. If you want lunch control then use opensource path.

Would this cause the car to pull timing like LC and FFS?

If the timing is to aggressive then the aggressiveness of LC and FFS could make the engine pull timing while performing this operations. I don't personally know if the patch will pull timing from the cells but hell its worth to try, remember that this puts a strain on the drivetrain and will eventually lead to something broken if abused of.

I believe that this thing is only like 200 bucks though. ANd will surely be switched on and off 329327589347583427985 times easier than the AP (Dont you have to reload the map with LC when you want it?)

Myself, I use a UTEC (will be on an AP+UTEC when car is back on the road soon) and I leave LC on 100% of the time. Under normal driving conditions it doesnt do anything so I dont worry about it. I guess with an AP you could do the same.

Probably wants to lower it for LC. I am 90% sure that is the entire purpose for this thing. I think it only limits the rpms with the clucth in or something like that.

Exactly. The UTEC has had launch control and flat foot shifting since like 2003. I love mine.
