Default IDC on Cobb stage 2?

What is the injector duty cycle for the 05 STi on stage 2? What would they be after a protune while mainting stage 2 mods (with the addition of a Walbro, ofcourse)? How do you know when to upgrade the injectors?

I had IDCs into the 100+% with my last protune.

From what I've read in several tuning books, the general consensus is anything above 80% can lead to inaccurate metering of fuel, overheating injectors, accelerated injector wear and failure.

^^^This would be 100% correct. My IDCs were 102-104% on the stock injectors with a Walbro stage 2 with meth. Now I'm running an 18g at 26psi and with DW 740s my IDCs are 78-80%.

So, do I get injectors before my protune? I'd rather pay more now for injectors than later with a blow motor. What size are my injectors now? How big should I go for a protuned stg 2? Can I put the injectors in right before I drive to the tune?

the bigger injectors will need to be scaled before you drive your car to get tuned. a competent tuner will be able to get a limp map together for you to drive your car in on. there are many injector options out there, talk to your tuner about what he feels is best. Many people have had great success with deatschwerks injectors.

Ask your tuner. What that person thinks should be more important than what this forum thinks based on who knows what.

You may be able to install the injectors if your tuner supply's you with a limp map.
