Default Any OpenECU tuners out there?

Looking for people with OpenECU expirience. I'd like to get into tuning, and that seems like the cheap option. Just wanted to get some input & direction. Thanks!

There are quite a few.

I hope you have the time and patience to read. A LOT.

Yea, that's what I figured. It's all good, I'm a software engineer, so I'd say I have a lot of patience and a major reading habit! Looking to hook up with people who've been through it all and speed up the process a little...

Wolfplayer made a good StreetTuner tuning primer and most of it applies to OpenECU as well...

I would start with Mick the Ginge's UTEC tuning guide. I am a software engineer as well, but I have experience building and tuning other cars. It seems most software engineers who get into it can tune their own cars just fine. There are a couple books that may help (depending upon what you already know) like Hartman's book, but none cover Subarus in particular. Our engines are not very volumetrically efficient and they are not the easiest to tune.

Your best online resource is romraider.com tuning forum.

Thanks Gabe! Just found RomRaider, and yes, I agree - it's an excellent resource! I also got the book you mentioned, it looks like RomRaider people swear by it. I have no experience with this stuff, so I need to brush up on tuning first. Thanks for being helpful, I appreciate it very much!
