Not necessary at all. Given the problems with the 07's though, it'd be good peace of mind

I'm about to get quite a few new parts installed, including turbo, and am planning on getting a compression test done. Well I was planning on installing one step colder plugs, so while I have em out might as well do a comp. test. But I don't own any of the equipment. Maybe I'll just have Mastro do it.

Or just go to autozone and borrow their compression tester for free. Just ask they have tools they loan out for free. Its easy to do no use paying a shop over $100 to do it.

only 5k miles? I think the car is almost brand new. You can do the test if ya want too. I have a 07 and never had any problems with it. In my local area I know 3 other people who have 07's and had no problems.

If you can change your spark plugs, you can do a compression test. Even *I* was surprised by how easy it is to do.

A leakdown test would be a more accurate form of seeing how well the engine is sealed up. You can buy them at your local parts store also.
