What are compression numbers supposed to be? When cold or warm for each cylinder? How close should they be in relation to each other?

I'm thinking between 130-150 based on what i've seen...the most important thing to look for is a cylinder with a large variance from the avg.

I would like to do this but how? What do I look for? Is there instructions on how to do this on our STi's?

^ search on here and nasioc and you will find.

Compression numbers should be in the 150-170 range from what I remember. YOu can find the numbers in said threads on nasioc though.

Okay another question (gotta love the forums)!
Can anyone break down the purpose of a compression and what does it do and show? What are benefits of it and the disadvantages? Thanks.... (i think I want to do this)

the numbers are suppose to be: 140,140,135,135. I am not sure if this goes in order for each cylinder, but those are the numbers I was told by a friend who works as a mechanic for SOA.
