Anyone installed Cobb stage 2: Access port & Cobb turbo back with hi flow cat?

Wondering if any issues installing this on otherwise stock 2004 STi... good streetability, how loud the exhaust, will it pass NC state emissions ispection testing?

Is it really as good as Cobb website makes it sound? A lot of $$... but if it's all matched up and works perfectly sounds pretty good to me.

Default Do STi's need ALK's?

Thanks.

I had read your thread previoulsy. It sounds like you had your DP & exhaust/cat back on before you used the access port... then used the access port and didn't see a huge difference... although if those dyno readings are at the wheels then it seems pretty impressive.

Am I reading your posts right? If so, was there a big difference with the DP & exhaust?.. B4 Access Port use. Stock exhaust cat?... Assume Perrin DP has no cat like stock.

Any clue if Cobb turbo back with cat will pass state emissions test? Did you have to go through emissions testing with your set up?

I did notice the difference once I reset the ECU. Initially I was not happy, but after the reset it was a very pronounced boost in performance. I have had four different exhausts on my car, including the stock system and the DP made the biggest difference.

My dp is catless and even with the stock catback I noticed an increase in performance. Both the HKS and Stromung appeared to result in a little more hp, but when switching back to the stock catback and leaving the dp, I did not really feel a huge change.

I don't know what the laws in your area are like. In VA they are very strict and since my car is catless it will not pass the visual test, but we don't have emissions here.

I think it will pass with the cat though.

Thanks.

Sounds like I'll probably go with the Cobb stage 2. I kinda like that fact that it all matches up with their dyno work.

Hey Dizzy: I'm about to install the GS DP tonight. I shouldn't have any trouble passing any inspections though, right? I live in Springfield BTW If I replaced the midpipe and muffler though, I can see having troubles

If you maintain the factory cat you won't have any problem. It is illegal to remove a working cat. Even replacing it with a hiflow cat is illegal. However, the car is rarly in the air to see if it is missing a cat. It also depends on the person inspecting the car. I didn't expect my car to pass once the manager came out to look at it. It was on a lift. But he let it slide. I was catless. You should be fine with just the dp though. The muffler tip/sound is what will get you caught.

I'm keeping the stock muffler (can one be stealth in a STI??!?!?) to keep things quiet. Cool deal, thanks for hte info.

I've been running Stage 2 for about 2 months now and love it. Tons of torque. Hitting about 19psi in 3rd. I don't have a catback though. Have TurboXS TBE Titanium T304 Stainless 4 inch Bell Mouth, Full 3inch Mandrel Bends, Polished Muffler w/Titanium 4 inch tip.

It screams
