Well folks it did it again tonight. After talking with my local COBB guys, I completely updated the firmware and reinstalled. I got the CEL going about 100mph in 6th gear WOT. I was running COBB stage 2 map with the Harman Motive full turboback pretty much at sea level and about 85 degrees outside with low (for Texas) humidity.....



UPDATE: Spoke with Dan Harman and we tried his 93 stage 2 map. Works fantastic! I went out and really got on the car. NO ISSUES whatsoever. So if you are planning on the HM TBE, definately get his map as well. The car drives great, and the exhaust is fantastic.

Seems to me there are no issues with CEL while running their maps.

I can't imagine getting that at 100mph...that must've been scary with the way the car bucked.

I am pretty much done with the Cobb maps...I am actually considering just selling my AP and going with the Tactrix cable. I am just waiting on reviews of the new Tactrix cable/software.

I deliberately got out on a stretch of highway that isnt too populated, and was prepared for it! I braced myself LOL. It hasn't been too bad, but its enough that I never ever want to feel it again!

This issue with the COBB maps is frustrating. I have owned 2 stage 2 STI's before this (2004 and 2007) and never had any problems with previous COBB off the shelf maps.

Add me to the list too. This morning on my way to work, 64 degrees, relatively flat and even stretch of highway, within couple hundred feet of sea level. Was doing 65, downshifted to 5th to take it up to 80 to pass, not WOT, more like 3/4 and I got the pop and jerk with all the warning lights. Pulled and reset the code this afternoon, P0244.

Cobb Stage 1, v 1.01 for 93 octane. Sport S# and Auto -.

I have the Perrin Stage 1 map for 93 as well. I'm going to switch to that.

God I hope they fix it soon. I want to sell the thing right now, I'm so frustrated with it. It's a fantastic steep mountain road up to my house that I would race up in my Stage 2 05. In my Stage 1 08, I will absolutely, without fail, throw the code every damn time if I drive it hard.

I hear you man. I am going to buy the Perrin map i think because its pissing me off too much. I got it 2 times up to park city, and a third the other day downshifting on the freeway. What a bunch of crap. BTW My neighbor keeps seeing you and thinks that it is me

Just get the Perrin or Harman Motive map. You won't regret it. COBB screwed the pooch on this one....

I must be one of the lucky ones that has never thrown a code...yet. Hot, cold, uphill, downhill, 3rd and 4th, nothing. But I also don't floor it in 5th at 3K rpm. Still, I believe someone said Cobb is going to address the issue soon.
