Default Will tuner's still exist in a year?

Seems like every shop is running specials now, even the big names........trying to attract customer who just want a quick tune, (repacked off the shelf..) instead of a tune where the tuner well, tunes your car...................What do people think about this? If tuner A) will tune you for 150 bucks and only spend 30 mins while tuner b will charge 300 but spend 4X as long on it.........................people will probably be attracted to tuner A (especially if they aren't familar with tuner b as much) as money means a lot to people and so does time. Will a real tuner be able to survive in this market or will be forced to hop on the boat and just give cheap crappy tunes because the standard of tuning has been brought to a new low?

Just seems like the term tune is going to start loosing its meaning even more.

the day they will go away is the day electric cars dominate. and even so. I'm sure they'll just tune those

I don't know where you are located but around here tuners are doing well and reputation has a lot to do with their "value" when it comes to a tune.

I would ALWASE recomend a custom tune over a generic tune. Nobody has the same car, so the only person you're hurting is you're self. Besides some people like the whole experience of watching it being dyno'd talking to the tunner, and understanding whats going on. I know I do and would never give that up beacuse it "cost to much" You got to pay to play! These cars weren't cheap to start off with so why would you skimp out once you have it, on such a vital aspect of the car?

Just seems like tuners are attracted to the business aspect of it and figure I can churn out X number of cars every 2 hrs for 150 a pop vs. spending a bunch of time to really fine tune it..............I'm afraid real tuners will be pushed out of the business.

Well it really all comes down to the tunner. I know a few that will NEVER sell them selvs out. And $150 tune, I wish it was like that around here. Cheapiest around here i've seen is around $400.

I paid 190 for my tune and im pretty happy with the results. It all comes down to choosing the tuner that makes you fuzzy inside lol.
