IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Yeah! Even though it is raining and I couldn't really play with the daughter in the car - the Stage I AP is very nice - the car runs smoother and definitely has more boost. (16 or so) Response is very good. I will let you all know how I fare on hotter days. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Know what you mean, Meridock...the nearest (and only) station in my area that has 93 oct is 30 minutes away. But Stage 1 93 is so much quicker than the 91 map, it's worth it! Can't believe how much torque this car makes now...the pull from 80 - 140 mph is incredible, let alone 1st thru 4th gear. Can't wait for the COBB tbe... |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | 93 Stage I was worth the money. Dare I compare my boxer motor to an american V8? I do - often - and even more so now.As for stage II - I would really need to listen to the COBB TBE to go to the next level. I have heard the Catback only and it was nice - but the sound is as important as the function - I live in a neighborhood and commute with my almost 2 year old. A loud buzzy exhaust with a 35 year old driver would be "pathetic" |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I'm 36 and already went through the guilt of having the big boy-racer wing and oversized scoop on this jalopy. But after driving it, I make no apologies!! The Cobb tbe/Stage 2 is, from what I've read, more subtle-sounding than a lot of the turbo backs available, especially the catted version. And I really don't see why anyone wouldn't want to get the catted one, especially here in Colorado with our annual air testing. Just worried about warranty hassles if something goes wrong before 36K... |

I will see if it does this in the AM with 15-20 degrees cooler weather. if it doesn't I will keep the 93 map in place and keep off the boost in 3rd until I reset the ECU. Supposedly some are seeing the problems disappear when the ECU is in agressive learning mode. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Looking thru the manual - it looks like it will only display the base map using that function - kinda wish it showed both... UPDATE - Drove in to work - 91 Stage 1 and no ping/det. It is 15-20 degrees cooler thoug. WIll keep you posted. There is a noticeable difference in the 91 v. 93 maps. Quote:

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | I have my base set to Stage 1/91 but am running the Stage 1/93. Lots of WOT runs, but no pinging yet. Would it make any difference to reset and load 1/93 as my base? I'd be afraid of having to go through the whole learning process again. How long does learning take, anyway? I've been on the 93 map for half a tank -- think after I burn through another full tank of 93 my ECU will have learned all it's going to? |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | Supposedly COBB fixed the issue of base map v real map problem (ie 91 base and 93 real) so this should not be problemtatic for you. I have heard ECU learning could take 2 weeks of driving - I think it is based on time and miles. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | UPDATE... When the weather broke Thursday I swapped back to the 93 map - no issues - I will keep monitoring, but it is looking like hot and humid is bad for my COBB AP. This ad is not endorsed by this member.
