Hmm, if this releases the DCCD lockup this could be a bit dangerous accelerating out of a corner because everytime you shift the DCCD will momentarily go "open" (i.e. minimal lockup). This could unbalance the car. I'm not sure if this would be hard on the centre differential either.

only if you bottom out the clutch, which I never do. I suppose I could bottom it out in the "heat of the moment". Hopefully we will get a more technical way, and I will go that route, but this works for now.

you can try my method until something more permanent comes along. just look at my posts. No one has really responded about it, I don't know if it's because it works, or how I got it to work. I guess I could damage something, but I have the upmost confidence in my shifting that I'm sure nothing will happen. Of course I don't autocross it or drive it like a madman either.

i have never had a car stall for so many years up until i got my WRX last week. stalled it 4 times already. reving it up to 2k seems to do a lot of wear off the clutch plus the fact that it makes your car jolt giving you a rough start.

Eventually, you come to expect it, and just do a nice smooth slow transition to the gas pedal, when you're on a hill...

It bugged me at first... now I don't even think about it.

Lol, been driving sticks my whole life and never backed up into anyone. I just have never enjoyed the stress of using a stick on a hill And let me tell you, theres lots of big hills in utah

Yeah just finding how bad it is now makes me worried... lol I'm used to driving fine without it, driving STD for over 8 years now... I guess have to use e-brake more or careful on the brake/clutch timing =/

I looked like a total n00b an auto-x event because the grid was on a slight incline and I kept f**king stalling out. This was the first time it REALLY annoyed me because it activates on the slightest teeny tiny slope. I mean...I looked like a total n00b anyway because my driving skills are well..umm..not impressive.

I actually wouldn't mind this on a steep hill say maybe >30 degrees or so, but the thing seriously must activate at like 5 degrees slope or something ridiculous. I guess if you could find the pitch sensor you could manually adjust it, but I'm guessing it's probably integrated with other things you don't want to go messing with.

Pull the ebrake one click you newb!

The DC Pro lot was on like a 10 degree incline, but wasn't a problem because the ebrake turns off the hill assist.

it also opens the center diff.

We asked whiteline about this on their blackbox when they were here, but did not get an answer as they are still working through the STi.

What I've noticed, is that you have to press the brake a certain percentage, before it will work. On very slight inclines, just pressing the brake "a little", or enough to keep you in place, likely WON'T engage the H.A. feature.
