Rotational mass may not seem like alot of weight, but every lb or so counts.

i'm in the same boat as you USNSTI same mods only i'm running the 65mm APS w/ the walbro, you dont need to ditch the pump it shouldnt effect the OTS map i'm still undecided on this, i got some fuel system cleaner and ran it thru the last tank, i got just under 20 and it was almost all highway very very minimal boost

What were you running before for tires and what are you running now?! I switched from 225/45 17 to 235/40 18 and I also noticed a slight drop in performance as well as MPG. This summer I am running 225/40 18 and I do not notice a difference.
Here is the thread on it. Question about 18s and performance (I did my HW and question still unanswered) - Tire & Wheel - NASIOC

My other thought is that you are getting on the gas more often because of the tune. This is just a guess though.

I just bought a can of MAF cleaner for like $6 at auto zone. Seemed to work pretty well. I will let you guys know if there are any results.

that's the thing i went from some big heavy 245/45/17's to 235/40/18's my the 245/45's sidewall is massive compaired to the 235/40's, i'm gonna go get some MAF cleaner right now to see if it helps any, i'll be doing a 120mi round trip 100% highway drive this weekend, i'll post back, i'm almost thinking about going back to the stock airbox/OTS map, my car seemed to run very good with this combo, the APS sounds sweet and i love the gains from being tuned for it but this car is making me broke right now on gas mileage and i dont even DD it

well i picked up a can of MAF cleaner and it kinda made me laugh "up to 14 horsepower increase AT THE WHEELS" lmfao, anyways prior to my APS intake i was running the stock box, no silencer and a K&N drop in filter, i pulled my MAF sensor and the whole side of it facing the filter was covered in black crap this has to be my problem, i sprayed it down really good 3-4x, let it dry and put it all back together, i'm praying this fixes the problem, i'll post back after the weekend

I just drove from dallas to houston... doing 90 i got 21-22mpg. i have 07sti w/ spt intake, catback and accessport. on my way back up from houston i started on the cobb stage 1 map and got 25-26.5mpg then switched to economy map and got from 27-28.5mpg!!!!! super baller. I've never put 10 gallons in and seen 260mi on the trip meter before. I know the cobb mpg isn't super precise but thats atleast 26mpg avg. w/ like 40mi of city driving. on the way back i was doing 70-75mph, actually did better with cruise control off since it likes to practically floor it when trying to climb a hill. just thought id let you guys know.

Does the economy map actually reduce fuel consumption or just limit the maximum boost you can have? I would think it just limits max boost to 7psi so you can't hit the afterburners. So, if you drive normally and do not giver any grease over 7psi, shouldn't your fuel consumption be the same???

You guys are probably all more aware of this than I am, but I can get as good as 320 miles (highway) or as poorly as 50 miles (track) to a full tank of gas. That's the highest range of fuel consumption for any car I have owned. (due to the 15+ psi, no doubt)

This basically tells me that if you pull the car out of storage, you will be greasing it everywhere for the first month and will loose at least 50 miles to a full tank of gas.

not sure if it leans it out very much as the a/f sat at 14.7-14.9ish. yea 14.5 is the norm. But its very obvious when observing the timing becuase its running 40+ degrees constantly unless your flooring it. I think ive seen it hit 58* advance before. Whenever i get wideband and they make a street tuner im going to really get some fuel economy out of this thing.

Well, I cleaned my MAF, and also switched from Exxon to Chevron 91 craptane. I am now getting over 200 a tank again. I was averaging around 15 mpg's before doing this, now I am around 18 mixed city/highway with moderate to heavy boost. So I say if you're having gas mileage issues and everything else is fine, check your MAF and also stop buying the crap gas. I think me buying the cheaper gas was probably the biggest part of the problem.....

Well I believe there is a difference. Not everyone is gonna agree on whats best and it will be different for everyone. I say use what works for you. If you use Exxon and are happy then don't change a thing.
