Default UTEC Stage 2 Question

Hello Everyone,

I just installed a TurboXS UTEC on my '06 STi and flashed it to the most current version -- 2.3b

I then uploaded their Stage 2 OTS map. I've been driving around without any problems at all and it pulls nicely through the power band.

However I had one small quarrel. Last night I pulled through 3rd gear and 4th gear all the way to red line and noticed that the car stuttered a bit right before red line, around 6700-6800 RPMs, and my check engine light blinked very rapidly for a brief moment in each gear as I approached red line. My friend behind me said I shot out a decent sized fireball as well.

Does anyone have any input to this?

Current power mods:

Intake: K&N Typhoon Short-Ram
Downpipe: Perrin Divorced Wastegate, Catless
Catback: Invidia G200
EM: 2006 STi UTEC

when CEL blinks that means you are knocking,

OTS maps are just for driving around till you get tuned

You need to take it easy on that OTS map and get it tuned. As mentioned, the flashing CEL means the engine is knocking.

As many ppl have experienced before, Txs OTS maps are crap. You have an official knock lite now lol... Now you must fear the Check engine light

What he said is true, the only ting I like a bout the utec is the fact that you can easily tune it with a wide band. Start adjusting fuel and boost small increments and datalog everything. Before you know it you will have a good base on tuning and save thousands on tuning lol.

I would like to learn how to tune it myself. Where can I get access to some good literature to do that?

I've been thinking about picking up the XD-16 Wideband Kit from Innovative Motorsports.

The easiest integration of a WBO2 with a Utec is the tuner from TXS.
