I'm crossing my fingers that I don't encounter the marginal gains, (even losses in some cases) of my Accessport. I think the fact that my car build date was November, I should have the newer ECU/Code.

The coolest part is that I ordered it on Monday, I get it Thursday.

3 month lead time? Bah I say!!!

i bet you will love it, i do. i noticed a good gain on stage 1, mostly more boost i think. stage 2 i ran the stock map the other day just to see, it def. feels faster. spool up is much quicker, and it runs more boost also.

my egt's are in line with when i was stock.

Good luck, but I agree with cnstman, you will most likely love it. I wouldn't go back to stock--and I am just running stage 1/93 oct. Make sure the base map you use is a performance map--even if it is stage 1/91 oct. Folks had some trouble setting it up with stock as the base map when running the realtime performance maps. This went away when the made the performance map the base map. I am sure you know that already. Cheers and enjoy!!!

i think that with the STi cobb made the "stock" map chage some more stuff so there is no loss of performance if you load it as the base map and then load a performance realtime map, but i wanted to load the map i would be using the most, stage II 93 oct.

Cobb did not anticipate so many wrx'ers using the stock map as the base, so they switched it for the STI if i remember correctly.

cnstman is right.

Cobb resolved the issues with running stock base maps. The trouble was with the WRX version anyhow. I ran both stock and stage 1 base maps. No issues.

I've been running the Stock base map with the Stage 2 93 real map and have had no problems wit the AP since it was installed in early June.

I just got my ECU back from COBB...and OMFG this car is a beast...coupled with a Vishnu TBE, the car is a rocket.

No dyno charts, the nearest one is about 1,000 miles from here. I will take it to the strip, best stock this year was 13.39, so hopefully well into the 12's.

Why did Cobb have your ECU? Did you mean your AP?

I had a bug in my AP that made my ECU not want to work and had to ship it back to COBB to have them correct it.....excellent customer service from COBB, the best I have ever dealt with in my life...

Now I'm at 13.03 ..... so close to 12's!!

You did not have to ship back. There is an update download on the Cobb site to flash the AP. This was discovered right after the STi AP was relased and quickly fixed via download. There was an actual communication bug with the AP not communicating with early edition STi ECU's. I had the same problem...downloaded the fix and worked like a charm.
