IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2005 Trader Rating: (0) | Protune is short for Professional Tune. Every car is different, even with the same mods, so an off the shelf map like what you get with the AP is very generalized. A protune will get you a map that is customized for your specific car. Usually a good protuner can get you more power for the same reliability. Just make sure the tuner has experience with STIs. They're nothing like boosted hondas. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Get protuned. Up here at altitude I only gained 12whp (the car was making freakishly high numbers on the ots). At that point my tuner gave me the option of just paying $80 for the dyno run because the ots #'s were so high. BUT, I got protuned and the car drives so so so smooth now. No more jerky BS from the car, it seems much much happier now. And I also gained 45lb-ft of torque. About the CAI, you won't make more than 5-8whp with even a really nice one. I think its worth it for the sound. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
