Default Cobb AP fuel question???

I have flipped through a few threads about the Cobb AP stage 1 and 2. My question is do you need to install a new fuel pump and injectors if you do this? I've read where a few people say this needs to be done because of the percentage of fuel the stock injectors can handle is this true or would it be alright? Also I've read that a protune should be done, is this necessary or is it some thing that can wait until i do some other mods like intake, injectors, intercooler, and turbo, which are plans for the future. If there is anything else that might be a help, let me know. I know this may be answered somewhere but it will be easier to find if someone knows or could point me in the right direction.

I would suggest injectors matched to your turbo upgrade, if its close, and a walboro. And with that a protune.

Pump/injectors do NOT need to be done for just a Cobb Stage 2. All you need is an aftermarket downpipe. (though a full Turbo-Back Exhaust is reccomended.)

Now if you get protuned, that's different. It's bet to talk with your tuner to see what he reccomends for supporting mods.

Thanks, this is what I was worried about, I planned on going cobb stage 2 with their TBE and AP. I was just worried I would have to change my pump and injectors right away. I was hopeing not, I wish I had that money now.

pump and injectors for stage 2 = no

a protune is not needed, but a great choice.

with a protune, most tuners recommend a fuel pump upgrade to lower IDC's.

Go with a fuel pump. Upgrade those injectors when you upgrade your turbo.

My tuner said the fuel pump will help me and it did. I was hittin nasty fuel cuts in 5th or 6th gear. After the tune, vanished those fuel cuts.

Well Im about to order my stuff in a week or so. I'll install it and see how the fuel pump works. If I don't get any fuel cut, I'm not going to worry about it right away, and just wait until I do a few more upgrades to put in a new pump and injectors.

So for the AP stage 1 you DO NOT need to upgrade the fuel pump on a 2007 STi, correct? I plan on going Stage I pretty soon, and don't want to experience fuel cut.

A fuel pump has nothing to do with fuel cut. A catless downpipe will cause fuel cut. At stage 1, you should have 0 problems.

I read somewhere and now i can't find it. or maybe I'm making it up, The cobb ap doesn't actually flash the ecu, but when you switch maps it doesn't cut the ecu life down as compared to ecutek? You can only flash this ecu 100x about befor its shot?

flash and switching maps are two different things. If you keep flashing your base map, you can render the ecu useless after 100+. The real time map switch is completely different

Oh I see, well once you have these maps on your ecu you can just keep switching? or everytime you plan to go to the dealer you need to flash your stock map back? I'm just not sure I understand how it works on that part.
