Default DataLogLab Power Graph

I did a couple pulls last night and logged a 3rd gear pull with RomRaider. Everything went fine as far as I can tell. I wanted to create a power graph so I only logged RPM, time, throttle. I am using DataLogLab to create the power graph.

Here is what I came up with:

http://www.techmologies.com/tuning/3...7_19_33_13.jpg

I am trying to produce the most accurate results but am very new to this. Can anyone critique or give any advice on my results?

Here is the original .csv with the data:

http://www.techmologies.com/tuning/3...7_19_33_13.csv

Also, some things to note:

-I am assuming, the spike at the end is error. I am reading this graph to show max power at around 300whp?

-Mods are Cobb catless turboback exhaust, grimmspeed uppipe, stage 2 reflash, BP 92octane on 05 sti.

- 22 degrees outside, me in the car with full tank, and bunch of crap in the trunk no more than 50 lbs worth.

Sure, cut down the range that you pull data from, only use the part where you were 100% throttle. You most likely stepped off the clutch at the end of the run and revved a bit rather quickly, fooling DLL into showing insane monster power...

I would say it reads around 300 hp, 325 tq. Nice!

Thanks for your advice. I guess I just thought that 300whp was a little much for an OTS map with TBE/uppipe only.

Not really. Mine measured 285 on a Mustang dyno with a 91 octane map, and I only had a high-flow catted DP and SPT cat back exhaust with similar results using Datalog lab's road dyno.

Mine has an APS intake now, and measures just over 300 hp with Datalog Lab, and I could see it doing the same on the same dyno I was on before (Central FL Turbo.) I suppose it might read a bit higher on a Dynojet, from what I've heard.

I could see your car making a measurable 300 WHP with stage2 mods. Honestly, though, the numbers don't really matter, that's why going to same dyno is usefull, you can measure gains or losses. I dyno'd out at 252 hp before stage 2 and 285 after on the same dyno. There is a measurable increase, and that is usefull. If I go to the same dyno after making more changes, and make 275, I know what I did didn't work. I went on a different dyno before stage 2 and measured 245 Hp. The number isn't so important, really. Just for bragging rights.

It says 3rd gear pull on your filename on the picture. Aren't you suppose to do all pulls in fourth gear because using a lower gear like that can create more torque because it is not a 1:1 ratio with the gearing. I thought that was the reasoning behind 4th gear pulls because it much closer to a 1:1 gear ratio. Thats the whole point of gearing the further you get away from a 1:1 ratio on anything ie... 2:1 or 3:1 you start creating more torque through the ratios.

4th gear would be technically better. However, it's much easier to find a road to go from 20 to 80 mph than one to go 40 to 120 on! I do pretty much all much road dyno pulls in 3rd for this reason. Using the same gear also keeps my data consistant.

Consistency with your own data I can understand but I guess I was just thinking that if he wanted to compare himself to more realistic numbers as cars on dynos 4th would be his best option.

EDIT: I think 04-06's only do like 95 in 4th anyways we have longer gears

pull the smoothing down to around 7. That will show dips better and give you a more accurate reading. Turn the correction on.

Nice pull, I also use DataLogLab for things like tuning. Here are my results below. I plan on going and doing some more pulls in 4th which should produce some different results; for now I only had enough to do a 2nd gear pull.

You can download from there site at Data Log Lab. This simply reads log files; it doesn't hook to your ECU; that is what Enginunity is for.
