Default A/F ratio.... Im Rich Biaotch!

I just installed a AEM Uego Wideband and I warmed up my car and took it for a spin... When I was at WOT it was running10:1. Is this normal? I got my car protuned back in Feb 07 but didn't have the gauge. Thanks for the input!! Peace! Dave

My boost gauge hardly hits 10psi... It not only at wot but part throtle too. The only time its around 14.7 is cruising. Ive even tried swithing to the stock and street maps on the Utec and its still around 10:1. Im going to mess with it this weekend and try to get it around 11 or 12:1. I dont know weather to turn the boost up or mess with the fuel and timing... I need a good starting point!

Yea... 10 psi! Should I up the boost or cut down on the fuel? Theres one point in the power band where the car hesitates for a split second and my gauge leans out. I was driving like a grandma on the way home from work not even giving it a quarter of throtle and it stayed around 14.5-15:1 but even with a little more throtle its jump to 10:1. Are wideband suppose to jump around so much? Mine goes crazy! I thought narrowbands were suppose to be like that! Thanks for the input! Where does everyone go to get tuned? Im in Clarksville, Tn

Dude a stock STI should boost to 14.99 PSI, why are you at 10 and you're protuned also? Somethings up dude.

I agree. How did car feel after the protune? as said up there, you should be getting more pressure than 10 psi. and a 10:1 a/f for 10psi is not really good for your motor. I would go back and tell who ever you got protuned from to take a look at it.

actually at this point i would suggest a mechanical issue, not a tuning issue.

Get retuned and have your AFR's printed out for you for the entire pull. I ran 10.1-10.3 cobb ots st.2 map full throttle. OTS not protuned. I now run 11.2. The Uego gauge is usually dead on for everybody. Atleast mine and my 3 buddies that use it aswell.

Your Riotch and I'm broke.

Talk to your tuner. Your tuner should be working with you to help you solve this issue.

Elevation changes A/F A LOT. If you were tuned at 1000 feet ASL and you are driving at 3000 feet ASL you will run pig rich. I run high 9's to 10:1 A/F at the race track I go to cause it is higher in elevation than where I was tuned at. At home, I run 11:1 A/F.

I think youve got your gauges confused. Its 10:1, not 10 psi. 14.7:1 is where you should be at cruising, 10:1 is rich, about where the stock tune is under full chat.

As for jumping around, yes, wideband/narrowband AFR gauages jump around a lot.

No... peak boost on my protune is right at 10psi. I got it to hit 14.5psi on the stock map but my car ran really crappy! Yea, its around 14.7 crusing but, if I try to accelerate fast it jumps right to 10:1. If I do ease on the gas (very slowly) it'll stay at 14.7. I know elevation has alot to due with things but, my car has aways ran like this... Ima give my tuner a call this weekend. Im in TN and thier in IL but their customer service is killer. Im still searching for a tuner down in TN so I can fix this. Im guessing that you cant swap maps from other people like the AP? At least maybe a base map? Thanks for all the input!

Maybe your car is knocking like crazy. Boost control has been turned off and you're running the fail safe map. It fits.
