Hmmm, That could be something but I dont think my car has ever knocked. Ive looked on the knock counter on my Utec and it didnt show anything. I dont know... Im thinking about just unpluging my Utec and seeing how it runs. Im going to try and road tune it myself first. I have the know-how, just no experience! lol We will see how it goes!

You have a UTEC? I don't think the ECU can turn off boost control and switch to the fail safe map then.

How ever you're tunner is tunning. It's definatly not working. No one ive EVER herd has had a protune with less than 18psi for a stage 2 setup. You should really consider a different tunner. Especially if it "was running like crap" when it was boosting 14 psi. That means theres other areas in the tune that need to be worked out. Good luck..

Protune = Cobb AccessPort Reflash...

Using the wrong terms makes things confusing.

I did a road tune on Saturday which turned out good. I still need to get retuned... I'd like to get a AP but I dont have that kind of money. Plus I'd be stuck with a black box that no one would want to buy. Oh well! Thanks for the input!

AFR sounds good. 14.7 is accurate for cruise and light acceleration, but boost sounds like it needs fixing as everyone else said.

Ive been email my tuner and said it might be a bad boost solinoid. How often do these go bad? If it was bad then wouldn't I be getting zero boost or maybe alot? I dont know, the car is running better. Plus I got about 10 more MPG on a tank of gas... That one postive thing! Thanks again for all the help!

Also, are most people tuned to 11-12:1 at WOT? And when should peak boost hit?

If I bought the AEM Tru-Boost gauge/Boost controler would this solve my Boost SOl. problem? Figure its a win-win situation!!

Is your 14.7 a/f ratio at wot or while cruising? At wot at 19 psi you should be around 11:1 a/f ratio. 14.7:1 a/f at full boost would not be safe at all.

I datalogged a run and sent it to my tuner, I guess both of my boost gauges are wrong. I hit 17.1 psi on the manifold pressure. I still have to figure out wy its running so rich...

What vacuum line is the best to splice into for a boost gauge? I used the one off the turbo. Maybe its too close to the turbo and thats why Im getting a inaccurate reading. I tried searching for the answer but no luck. All vacuum line should be equal, right? Thanks! Dave

Actually my 06 sti before i tuned it it was 10.1:1 after the cat and the boost was only 13 lbs. It could be were geting the boost reading from. Does the car run bad?

My car runs fine but it seems like it should be faster. My gauge is T'd off from the Wastegate Acctuator to the turbo. Im pretty sure the boost SOL is also spliced into this line. Wonder if thats why its not reading correctly...

that has to be the worst advice...do you even have a wideband? or ever had your afr's logged...i think youve just heard 14.7 is the perfect AFR and are just saying thats what yours is..

under boost at WOT your motor would definatly be detonating/knocking to hell and back if you were running that lean,possibly even blow up...11.1:1-11.7:1 is the ideal "sweet spot" for our cars..the lower the safer,the higher the more power but risky...some tuners really tweak it near 12:1 any more than that is dangerous... 10.1 is rich as a pig, are you seeing alot of black smoke out the back..even some flameballs in between shifts?? bumper burnt?? that wouldnt suprise me...also if it really is 10:1 you got a bit more power available, i HIGHLY recomend a new tuner...
