IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | ok so yesterday my friend and i installed my turboback exhaust completely catless from turbo to tip..{RS*R}.. then i installed the k&n typhoon intake.. then i flashed to stage 2 with the accessport... my car drove fine for about 5 minutes and now its just running crappy.. when im driving my car under 3k rpms...it runs alright.. but when i gas it a little bit it feels like im neutral and just reving the engine.. for example, i was on the freeway doing 60 and then i down shift to 5th normally i would feel a little kick.. but instead it just felt like i was revving the engine.. then i started to smell burnt clutch or just that hot engine smell..it pretty much feels like my turbo isnt kicking in where it should be.. i dont know if its a blown turbo, boost creep, or just lack of a tune.. any insight would be greatly appreciated.. IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | i also forgot to add in that i connected the AP to read the live boost.. and when i drove it the readings would stay negative.. i also have the factory boost gauge and it doesnt go past the thick white line which is zero.. so am i not getting any boost? where i normally should be getting it?? |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | yeah i have a boost gauge.. and i am running the stock clutch.. the mileage of the car is 31k... i also have a walbro fuel pump on the way.. i dont know if that will help.. i thought boost creep would only be at high rpms? this happens in first, second, third.. pretty much all my gears.. i just cant pass 2800-3500 rpms or i'll run into the problem.. |

Check all the connections on the intake you installed and the connections on the compressor turbine hose as well. Stage 2 should be making around 18 psi. Once you get this resolved, I highly recommanded getting tuned.

Without any load on the motor because your clutch won't grab, you will not build boost. Last edited by La Mer; 01-23-2008 at 12:48 PM.

| STI Driver | yeah your clutch is about to give out. I was on the Highway the other week when i decided to F with a ferrarri, i was about to top off 4th gear when my REV just went all the way up and the car didnt go, did it a few more times before i realized my clutch was about to give out. Im stage 2 and i just got a stage 1 clutch masters with the organic disk and an aluminum flywheel and now my car never stops!!! lol |

yeah i dont accelerate at all.. i dont know if my clutch is worn out or not though.. because this happens in all six gears.. i just cant pass 3k rpm.. and i dont even punch it, i can ease into it also and it will still happen..

well if your smelling burnt clutch its not because you have a leak, that to me just doesnt make sense. If you smell burnt clutch when this happens, easing or not, then i'd put a dollar towards it being your clutch about to give out. my stock lasted 45k but the owner before me kept it for his weekend car and was an old man. so the clutch didnt really get abused till i bought it
