IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | you might notice some detonation and pulled timing but that's about it ![]() ...better yet try the 93oct HWG map for lots of fun On a serious note it's not worth the risk and any gains will be marginal at best on a stage 1 map |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2007 Trader Rating: (2) | You want to run a tune designed around the octain it was made for. You can run a 91 tune with 93 octane gas, but you don't want to run 91 octane gas with a 93 octane tune. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (6) | Then run the 91 map to be on the safe side. For future reference though, there is quite a bit of difference between 91 and 93 as far as tuning and upgraded turbos is concerned. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | Be thankful you don't have the misfortune of living with California gas! Paid $3.75 a gallon for some of the worst 91 octane in the country. Yea I have a fuel map for running this gas for the mods I have (Just north of stage 2 ) and some for 93 and higher when I want to do some track time or just go out and play. It just sucks paying so much for fuel that at it best can keep my car from detonating. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | I have sadly not had the opportunity to run 93 pump gas, however I have been blending CA 91 w/a number of additives to simulate it as best as I can. Simply stated, fuel makes a considerable difference. I have been running a variety of Stage 1 maps (OSECU) on both blended and unblended fuel. The best combo I have found is Toluene, MMT octane booster, and Chevron 91. The car is smoother from idle to 7K. It will also run more timimg w/o knocking. The verdict is out on power/torque b/c I have never dyno'd, but the the butt-dyno says it's worth it. ![]() -KPN |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2006 Trader Rating: (5) | Noticeable? Ummm yeah. If you tune a STi on 93 then go to a state with 91oct. You'll see quite a big difference between the logs This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
