IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | I have a UTEC with the OTS stage 1 map, no other mods. So I went open throttle today in 2nd gear, and the CEL started blinking. This means it's detecting knock. However, it kept blinking for a good 10-20 seconds after that when I had let off the throttle. I don't get it. Why would I be knocking on a stage 1 OTS map with an otherwise stock car? I'm using 93 oct. And why would it continue blinking for a while after I had let off the pedal? The other day the CEL came on and stayed solid when I went open thottle and hit higher RPM's but I didn't think anything of it. It also came on for a split second after turning on the car a week ago. Can you guys help? It didn't seem to drive terribly or anything after it blinked, but I also didn't go open throttle/high rev's after that. This ad is not endorsed by this member. IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | OK so here's the update. I'm a dumbass. I must've missed the part about the CEL blinking fast for knock and slow for misfire. So, yes, I'm experiencing misfire at high rpm's. So I gotta pull the plugs and check the gap as my first step. If the plugs are good, whats next? However, I still don't know why I'm only hitting .9-1.0 mPa for max boost according to the factory boost guage. I don't have a laptop nearby, so I haven't been able to datalog. Perhaps the boost is fine but the guage is jacked, because the car is pulling stronger(especially at topend) than stock(yes, even the OTS stage 1 map is butt-dynoable). Actually, even when the CEL blinks for a misfire, the car is still smooth/strong from what I could tell. Well, I should be able to datalog come this weekend. Hopefully that will help. |
