it is most likely a warning sound. i would guess that you have the op gauge and whomever installed it also set the warning sound to a certain level. if the key is in the on position and the car is not runing then there is no op. therefore, the warning sound is going until the op level is above what the warning was set at. this is satisfied when the car is running. hopefully that made sense.

it makes it difficult to have the car in the on position and listen to music, doesn't it?

i know there is a write up about this and how to remedy it i will go look for it but it is basically re-wiring one wire i think its the orange one i have the same problem by the way
ok i cant remember where i got it but i think nasioc and i have been too lazy to do i yet, but it talks about using the radio harness and one to the a/c harness:
constant 12v+(defi red wire)should go to the blue w/red stripe wire on the radio harness
ignition 12v+(defi orange wire)should go to the green w/orange stripe on the a/c harness
illumination 12v+(defi white wire) should go to the violet wire on the radio harness
black ground(defi black wire)should go to the black wire on the radio harness

ok hope this helps no i need to get my lazy ass to do this, since that beeping can get real annoying

i have no idea where my manual is... and i really havent messed with the warning settings since i didnt set them and i want to keep them where the tuner set them just incase... anyway.. the manual has something i am sure re: setting the warnings. hopefully it will show you what the warning is set @ before you mess with it. so if you wanna set it back to where it was, you can.

so.. just so i am getting the problem correct. key is @ the on position where windows work, radio works, but car not on and a warning beeeeeeeeeeeep goes off. right? next time look to see if one of the gauges is lit up (probably the op gauge). and when you start the car, this noise is gone right?

You can't get around the warning with the way you've wired up your unit - when your car is turned off, there is no oil pressure. 0 pressure = warning.

The only way around it is by re-wiring it to the air conditioning panel - that way the guages only turn on with ON instead of ACC.

according to the manual (thanks for posting this btw):

Page 45:

* Regarding the oil pressure and fuel pressure gauges, the warning LED goes on at a lower value than the set value and a buzzer sounds.

* When the ignition switch is turned on but the engine is not started, the opi pressure sensor reads 0kPa and a buzzer sounds due to the warning condition.

-----

I am not sure if you can adjust the op warning down to a level below 0kPa. If you could, then that would get rid of this warning buzzer. However, if you don't reset the warning buzzer to the level it was at before you adjusted it, then youwont hear the warning buzzer when the motor is on and you are below safe levels of op. kinda defeats the purpose of the warning buzzer if you ask me (assuming it is possible to adjust the lvl downward to eliminate the warning buzzer in the 1st place.)
