| Spec C Club | Your STi key has a chip in it. The new Blue one does not. Therefore, the sensor in your old key can not be read and your new key, without the chip, signals there is not a real key and shuts your car off. |

| Platinum Member | ive seen the blue key with the new 07 sti's... where? do any of the blue keys have the chip? no. do i have to get the lame black key... yes. If you want to hack up one of your other keys, you can remove the chip, tape it inside your steering column and use the blue key. But that pretty well defeats the purpose of the immobilizer. And it would suck to be stuck somewhere and have your car not start if the chip came loose, got lost, whatever. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |
