It would actually be slightly easier on the tranny but the difference is not worth thinking about. It is a little harder on the clutch though. Sometimes I will shift from 1 to 3 or 2 to 4 or 3 to 5 to be lazy but I don't skip first. | |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | The only time I heard about starting out in second is is wit a two wheel drive car on an ice patch. I wouldn't do it in an STI cause u jus going to burn more clutch. Save the clutch for launching. |
