im getting my 04 sti this weekend any tips for driving and shifting?

Dont drive like an a-hole and theres no need to redline on the stock turbo. Congrats btw.

Don't treat it like a FWD/RWD...they are quite unique to launch. I just recommend pushing it until you get the general idea...if it is your first AWD then expect to stall out a few times.

congrats, you are going to love the new car. Take it easy till you get used to driving it. Remember the more that get wrecked the more out insurance companys like to raise the premium.

An '04 eh? Be VERY aware of the lift throttle oversteer. '04s are notorious for it.

Conrats!

I just got my 05 a couple of weeks ago so I know how you are feeling. For me getting used to the shifter has been the biggest adjustment. I find the effort to push to the left for 1st and 2nd or to the right for 5th or 6th to be higher than I am used to. Not a bad thing just different than anything else I have driven previously.
