Default Top Mileage

I'm not sure where this post should be so I'm trying in this section. It's mainly for the people that have had past STi's or have had one for a long time i guess. I just want to know about how long an STi will last, mileage-wise. I know it depends on how I drive and that kinda stuff, but I would like to know long it might last. I'd say I'm a decent driver in the sense that I'm not taking off, WOT, racing. Only on rare occasions. Either that - or when the engine will start taking a s*it on me, and I'll have to dish out money to fix it. Before my STi, I had a Jeep Cherokee and its at like ~130,000 miles, and is starting to die. I took crap care of it so that might be why, but I'm taking the best care of my STi as I can. Hopefully someone can help me out. Thanks

I think there are people with 04's that have over 130k on the clock and their cars are still running great.

Pretty sure. There's a guy here who commutes something like 1000 miles a week and his STi has been running tip top. My '04 has 63K on the clock and runs like a friggin turbine.

Do you know how many miles he has on it?? I drive like 36 miles to my job because they pay very well and it's worth the money. I was fine driving it in my jeep - but now I'm just worried about killing my car too fast. I love it and want to keep it as long as possible.

He's got to be pushing 200K by now. I drive 40.1 miles, all interstate, to work four times a week. It's pretty ghey, but at least I have either the iPod or the Borla to listen to

Has he put a lot of money into it? Sorry for asking so many questions.

Subarus are pretty sturdy cars. STi's are even sturdier. If you don't beat it you car will last a long, long, long time. I commuted in mine for 3 years, put 95K miles on it. RichXKU has the same year ('05) with 15K miles on his; he drove mine and said it felt just as tight as his did.

I have absolutely no idea what he's done with his.

X2! I bonked a highway divider last winter (low angle, 70 mph, in slush) and it didn't even faze my alignment.

...Yes, I had the alignment checked the next day. Didn't do any damage other than a little rash on my wheels Fukit, I can live with that.

Don't worry about commuting in the STi, it's totally fine.

Hey guys,

I had my 04 that had 128+ change on it. It was holding power decent. It ended up when I traded it, that the turbo blew or bearings. I didn't do the breakdown, but just traded it in. They didn't notice anything and took it for 14k. This was over 2yrs ago, so take it as you will. I'm pretty confident in high milage Suby's, but only if it's really taken care of. I had my STi worked on by good shops!!!

Now a days, I do all the work myself, so I know it's done correctly.
