Wow, if your STi trannies go out from FFS that means they are not made to handle 300hp. I powershift all day in my Hawk, its not a DD, when I take it out I drive it like I stole it, and with 28k on the clock I havnt had any issues. And thats gay that its not mapped to FFS from the factory! My car is specifically mapped to powershift at redline from the factory.

Care to run 20:1 AFR at fuel cut? No doubt some fuel will be left over in the cylinder.

Not stupid... at all.
2 types of engagement ;synchromesh and dog.

1synchromesh is what pas. cars have.
The good,Easy to operate w/no spec skills involved and smooth shifting,The bad;shifting forks and synchros can break with hard use.And Slow shifting in comparison with-
V DOG engagement...

2Dog-
[can have helicle or spur gears] can shift at wide range of rpm, wider gear design ,AND YES ,CAN FLAT SHIFT/releasing dogs for quicker engagement.the bad ;hard to drive ,geared for racing as its rough and special care required for operation.

btw;i dont have a db nor am i any sort of racer .But ,i did stay at a holliday inn last month.

you realize a FFS and a "power shift" are 2 different things right? and believe me when i say that GM used no special mapping on your firehawk which allows you to shift any different than any other car.

<-- 6 year member of LS1tech.com, owned 2 LS1 cars, done anything from oil change to heads/cam install on them aka I know more about your car than you do so you should just lock it up b/c your making a bad name for domestic owners.

Umm.. C.J. you realize that Firehawk owner is banned right? He won't be around to see your reply. Sorry I couldnt help but Firehawks and LS1 suck. They all have piston slap, and misfire, theres a few LS1 owners at my work, so I hear these wierd engine noises everytime they start thier engines.

I used to have FFS set up on my COBB map, and when I used it I felt that it was excessively hard on the driveline. Every so often I would hear a loud clunk coming from the rear. So in my opinion, I wouldn't do it everyday, even if you are doing it the "right" way.
