Default STi 60 foot times as opposed to Rear Wheel and Front wheel cars..

I cant remember where I have read this kind of info before... What I'm trying to find is the difference between the 3 types of drives... I know our AWD set ups better as much a 3 tenths of a second in our ET's with a 1 tenth better
in our 60 foot... What kind or range does a RWD better with a better 60 foot.... Heres what I have going on fellas... I work with a guy who just cant handle the fact my STi smoked him last friday at FireBird Raceway here in AZ. He drives an 05 GTO, and ran a 14.1 at 101.... I ran a 12.6 at 113 with a real crappy 60 foot of 2.08... The track temp was at 38 degrees, and no one could hook. Anyway, he blames everything to his 60 foot being at 2.5 and thinks he could have been way deep into the low 13's... I say NO WAY.. His trap says different..... Thanks for any help.......

With a 101 trap speed, a perfect run is in the 13.3-13.5 range. This would probably take drag radials to do it.

Holy ****! 12.6 with a 2.08 60ft?! Most people who cut 1.6 60ft's with Stage 2 setups barely even run 12.8's! And since you trapped 113, I can only imagine if you cut a 1.6 60ft on your setup. Most RWD cars that cut bad 60ft's run very very slow. I seen a new GT500 only run a 14.5 but on the street it was a killer!

My vette when I didn't hook up would run in the mid to low 13's with a 2.5 60 foot time but trap in the 113-116 mph range. Best 60 foot I could ever muster with my vette on street tires was a 1.9.

I agree. OP you are doing exceptionally well with the PE1820 which is basically a VF22 with bigger/better hotside flow. I'm impressed considering how slow your 60' was that you managed a 12.6

Like the others said - the guy with the GTO would be lucky to see low 13s. I think on a good day if he hooked up you could expect mid-13s at best. You are most likely dealing with a typical mentality of a person that thinks performance cars are big displacement RWD coupes like Corvettes, Fire Birds, Trans Ams, Camaros, GTOs, etc, etc... You'd be surprised how many people are clueless about how quick/fast turbo 4-cyl cars can be. Add AWD and they are downright mean from a dig. Most people just don't get it lol.

Thanks for the input guys.... I've been dealing with this guy for years, and the crap talking still continues even after a good ass kicking at the track.....

Trapping 113 should be able to get a 12.0

Actually the GTO should be able to hit low to mid 13's. The 04 GTOs should hit high 13's to mid 14's.

An '05 GTO should easily be low-13/high-12 with any kind of halfway decent driver. Trap speed is just as influenced by crappy driving as ET is, the fact that he got 101 mph means he doesn't know how to drag race.

I have yet to see a stock GTO run better than 13.3 stock. Maybe they just all can't drive. Dragtimes.com agrees...

I seen an all stock 06 LS2 GTO manual here go 12.9. The guy said its hard to launch the car to get a good time, and he has very fast RWD cars like the c6 Z06 that he ran a 11 flat on his first try.

A 2004 GTO perhaps, the 2005 GTO has a 400 horsepower engine and piggy though the GTO may be, it scoots. You can see what some of the GTO folks are getting here: LS1GTO.com Forums - LS2 N/A Stock and Modified Classes
