Default 1st perfect launch

I have launched my car a couple times before, with a decent result. Today I was alone on a deserted road and figured that I would try again. I did it perfectly this time, and I am completely speechless. It was crazy.

I know that this has been covered before, but I just wanted to let everyone know that this method works! I revved it up to about 3.5-4k and let the clutch out slowly until it started to grab, then simultaneously floored it and released the clutch quickly with a little wheelspin (no hop) which left about 4ft of rubber.

I normally do not launch my car, but in the couple of times I have, they have both been accidental. As in, needed to get into traffic QUICKLY. Truly amazing.

I don't ever launch my car on the street, but I have done it a few times at autoxes. I had no idea that something could take off that fast.

STi's have the sickest launch. A friend of mine who owns an evo9 taught me how to launch in a STi since evo's and sti's are AWD. Exact same way as you said. Also the STi's have a better launch than the evo's.

Yea, awd launches are pretty sick. But I dont know if I would say STi's have better launches than evos, but it just takes less effort to get them going. You have to abuse evos to get them out of the hole quickly.

not nesasscarily, if you know how to launch both cars they will both leave the hole quickly, if anything i would say and evo is a better launcher bc the stock ecu has is set up with two step, witch is friggin sick!!

The factory 2 step on the evo is nice but they are still alittle more finicky to launch since they have zero low end power compared to our Subie's which make them really easy to bog down in the hands of an inexperienced driver. With that said, I have never been out launched by an EVO at the track or on the street.

Ive had that happen to me a few times and yeah the torque throws you back into the seat when you arent expecting it. Its WAY fun though cause you feel like a passenger when that happens. Passengers tend to feel the acceleration more than the driver.

4500 to 5000 rpm pop the clutch but hold it ever so slightly thru wheel spin and then bang second w authority for the chirp in second gear. Fun but absolutely a killer for the clutch. AWD cars do not make good rubber burners but they are faster off the line than RWD due to the minimal wheel spin. The STI's w the 65/35 torque split will burn rubber more easily, I think.
