The TWM Performance short shifter for the Subaru STi has been long awaited, and you won’t be disappointed! The new TWM Performance short shifter introduces solutions for the issues commonly reported with other manufacturers’ short shifters.

It is well known that the most difficult part of installing an aftermarket short shifter in the STi is to re-install the infamous reverse lockout spring pin. Lining up the cable with the slot and punching in the tiny pin has long been nearly impossible, until now. TWM has designed a new special tool to re-install this pin very easily and quickly, and it comes included with each STi short shifter kit.

We have also addressed concerns about vibration noise coming from aftermarket short shifters around the reverse lock mechanism. Many short shifters on the market vibrate at different RPM levels; we’ve designed the upper part of our short shifter with special dampening to prevent such issues. This ensures a short shifter which functions as quietly, or quieter than the stock shifter.

The TWM STi short shifter is also designed to keep the same shift knob position in neutral as the stock unit. Unlike some short shifters, it is not tilted back or forward, the horizontal position of the shift knob remains the same as stock but at a lower height for a sportier look and feel.

im seriously consiidering getting this. I just wish it was a 40% reduction. Whats the warranty on these new shifters?

We offer a limited lifetime warranty on every short shifters we sell, it basically covers any defects that could occur in material of the short shifter or workmanship.

The prototype is pictured in this manual, the production version will have much cleaner welding and a black coating.

It will work with upgraded bushings, we are actually looking into making our line of polyurethane bushings for the STi as well!
