Shifting from gear to gear takes more effort then stock, even with the pivot joint loosened.

There's a winding noise when I'm in gear, and when I come to a stop in gear, it's can get loud. (I only hear it with my windows up, but it sounds kinda like a supercharger sounds when it winds up)

There's a clicking noise when I shift into gear. It's not super loud, but it's noticable.

After the install and a test run around the neighborhood, I looked under the car but didn't notice anything that would be rubbing. The reverse cable along with the o2 sensor is zip tied away from the driveshaft, so I don't know where that noise is coming from.

I have a hard time explaining things through text so sorry if it's a little long and confusing lol.

Shoot - I was just up in Columbus today visiting family. I wish I had seen this sooner so I could have taken a look at it.

Here's some things to check:
Rear stay bushing - if it's in upside down it will rub on the driveshaft. Make sure the thicker amount of material from the bore is down, and the lower surface of the bushing is parallel to the ground.

Linkage bushings - torque is 11lbs, and use some grease.

Pivot bushings - grease these as well.

Important point for both linkage and pivot - make sure these is grease on the faces of the bushings where they press against the inside of the clevis.

Make sure the lug at the end of the lockout cable in the lever is centered on the pin, and not rubbing the inside of the lever.

Check the o-rings for the cup at the bottom of the lever. Make sure they are in the proper location, and not torn. Make sure there's a good bit of grease in the cup.

Check the preload tension on the cable. too loose, and even if you have it zip tied up it will still make noise. You adjust the preload on the cable at the funky washer for the front stay. It adjusts like a bicycle brake cable.

Check the dustboot plate, and make sure it's not rubbing the control rod coming off the shifter. This is outlined in the kartboy lever install on scoobymods.

Check these things, and get back to me please.

Red face Re: TiC/Kartboy Bushings

Thanks for the reply. It's great to get a reply directly from you guys. I like this kit and I really like to support local vendors. I may be a bit paranoid, but here's a list of some of the stuff I checked.

Yeah, the thicker part is facing down. It's kind of like a triangular shape, with the pointed end facing up.

I used a fair amount of white lithium grease on the outer facings of the bushings.

I'm going to jack the car up tomorrow and double check this stuff.

Just e-mail TiC. They will respond with a custom-package for whatever you are looking for. They are awesome.

If I can ever finally get to a TST meet again I'll let you take it out. I've been so busy lately that I haven't been there in a few weeks.

Here is what I have on mine:
http://turninconcepts10.chainreactio...87719ec3370d54

That's the Holy Shift set. It includes the front and rear stay bushings, the shift linkage bushings, and the pivot bushings.

If you want the same kit but with a short shifter get this one:
http://turninconcepts10.chainreactio...87719ec3370d54

That is the same as the Holy Shift set but with a Kartboy Short shifter.

It takes about an hour to an hour and a half depending on how meticulous you are being, but there are install instructions right on the website and they're very well written!

Using the stock lever as a baseline -

Factory optional SS kit is a 10% reduction in throw vs. stock.

Kartboy lever is about a 40% reduction in throw vs. stock. The Kartboy lever will also put the shift knob about 1" shorter than the stock location.

I just had my Tic Holy shift and unabomber sexy rearend kit installed a few weeks ago. Everything felt really good for the first week, but I am now starting to notice that after driving the car for about 15 minutes when shifting the bushing make a squeaking noise everytime I move the shifter from gear to gear. I've driven a WRX with the holy shift kit and it never had the squeaky noise from the shifter. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing the squeaking noise? I know this kit increases NVH, but the squeaking noise just seems a bit strange to me.

Needs grease. A nice thick type like wheel bearing grease works well.

OH!!! And also check the control rod to boot to boot plate clearance. We've found a squeak from there from time to time.
