Exclamation I'm in need Of Professional HELP

Ok guys i searched for related topics but i need more info then what came up i have an 04 STI (no power mods)and i need a new clutch

(i guess thats what I get buying a used STI)

but i'm a daily driver i go to the track once every couple of months. I plan on by the end of next year getting the FP Green and supporting mods. I need a clutch now but i dont want to have to buy a new one once i get my Green. I need something Very Durable, not too touchy or too costly (I'M MARRIED AND SHE DONT LIKE ME SPENDING A LOT OF MONEY ON MY CAR). If u can give me the brand and model and PRICE (IF POSS) ALONG WITH why and pro's and con's . and can someone give me the diffculty rating of installing it (i have a couple years of mechanical experience but i try to leave all my subie work for the dealership) and they want to charge me 500 for labor. Plus do i need or should i get i new Flywheel

Thank for the help in advance

1) Just replace it with another stock clutch.

2) Please post threads in the proper forum - this should go in the drivetrain forum. I'll move it for ya.

check out whatever the rps street clutch is. Should be great for daily driving but can handle the extra torque.

Ah. There are a lot of threads asking the same question in the drivetrain forum. Toodle around there for a while and do some cursory searching. Or just take evil's advice.

What you might want to do is research it, come up with three options, and then post a poll.

Because the stock clutch is fine for reasonable power levels and a performance clutch can really suck to DD.

If I Had this problem I would look for a slightly used stock clutch for now. Then when/ if your wife let's you, you can get a power clutch/flywheel combo when you get the upgrades. That way the clutch will be used for what it was ment for. Who knows when you will get the upgrades. SO you will be useing a performance clutch on a stock set up? Not the way most serious people would go. But that is me.
SO when you are ready to find a performance clutch you can go to the vendor section and ask some quetions. There are some decent vendor threads on nasioc. Just check them out.

I love my SPEC stage 1 clutch and my Streetlight flywheel. You can get a great price on a combo at CVR Motorsports. I got the set for around $630 for the entire package.

I have a ACT HD clutch with a Gruppe-s flywheel and I love it. I DD my STI in northern VA traffic and its fine for me. Got my package directly from Gruppe-s for around 700. Took about 6 hours to install, however, I had a lift. Oh yea, the clutch is rated at 475 trq, plenty of clutch for a green.
