| Junior STI Driver | Hi, Recently, I got my car tuned and the clutch was slipping at higher torque levels (max I hit was 347wt where it held and is currently tuned to). I won't be going above 390wt, probably closer to 370wt, so does anyone have any suggestions for another one? The next logical step seems to be an Exedy Stage 1 organic, but I wasn't sure if I should do that or go with a new stock one. Main focus is on daily driveability/longevity, but with enough clamping force for my power goals. I'm not a drag racer and I do little, if any, launches. Thanks. IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (14) | I just got an Exedy Stg. 1 installed and so far I love it. The pedal is a bit stiffer than stock and the engagement is a little bit more abrupt but overall it's perfect for daily driving. I'll be running a GT52 probably around 370wtq so that will be the real test. |

| Junior STI Driver | Thanks for the reply. My tuner mentioned that the stock clutch will be fine, but I want something that won't be pushing the limits of it. I'd like to get some opinions on this, especially those that have had the Exedy or stocker for awhile on approx. 370wtq levels. Quote:

| S204 Racer | Personally, I can't recommend the Exedy Organic based on the fact that mine started to fail with only 13K miles on it. I've now got an Exedy TP, but I think the 2 of you would be better served by considering a sprung solid plate clutch from either ACT or RPS. Just my $0.02. |

| Professional STI Racer | Competitionclutch.com They have GREAT clutch's. I recommend the Stage 4 Strip Series 1620 Clutch Kit, which is sprung with an option to get the unsprung kit. The IronMan Street/Strip Series 1680 Clutch Kit might be an option for you as well, won't hold as much as the Stage 4, but it's a great kit. Last edited by mllrsti; 08-25-2007 at 09:46 AM. |

| Junior STI Driver | Bump for info on Exedy stage 1 organics. Anyone else have one? How much torque can they hold approx. (I've looked and didn't find any numbers)? Do they last (daily driveability)? Thanks. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2004 Trader Rating: (14) | Now that my Exedy Stg. 1 is broken in it feels almost exactly like stock. The engagement is a bit more positive but pedal feel is almost identical. I'm getting tuned with the GT52 in November so I'll report back then. |
