IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | I am in the market for a new clutch for my six speed .... I came across this two clutches for our cars .... 1)RPS STI MAX Pressure Plate w-Street Disc Clutch Kits: Torque Capacity 550 / Pressure Increase 40% These kits include a stock OEM disk and a "Max" RPS blue pressure plate. The disk provides for a stock like engagement, however, with the increased clamping force from the pressure plate, much greater holding power is achieved. 2)RPS STI MAX Pressure Plate w-Sprung Hub 6 Pad Disc Clutch Kits: Torque Capacity 625 / Pressure Increase 40% These kits include a sprung hub 6 puck disk, and a "Max" RPS blue pressure plate. The 6 puck disk has superior holding power over the stock disk, but is less streetable. The sprung disk is great for when a lightened flywheel is used. RPS has a great reputation on the Supra community..... I like the RPS STI max pressure plate with street disc clutch kit rated for 550 torque capacity but I am afraid my new GT35R will be to much for it on the track (1/4 mile) .. I know for a fact I wont have 550 torque to the wheels in my setup not even at 30 psi of boost ... But I am still afraid not to get the 6 puck do to hard launch at the line on the track and street... I am confuse .... This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | The RPS 6-puck is nice, not hard at all to drive, but when combined with a lightweight flywheel (act prolite) I tended to stall the car at least once a day. I don't think it would be such an issue with a heavier flywheel. Pedal effort is light, almost like stock, and the clutch can be modulated smoothly off the line. But get rough with it, and it'll rip yer head off |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2004 Trader Rating: (4) | i've driven a car with the 6 puck and a resurfaced stock flywheel and it really wasn't that bad at all. It's grabbier than stock, but once you get used to it it's not bad. I havn't driven the street version so i can't really compare the two. This ad is not endorsed by this member.
