| Junior STI Driver | Every one of my friends who 'sets' the ebrake at the line breaks an axle if they hook. The ebrake dissengages the center diff electromagnet allowing the rear end to take all the shockload hence breaking the axles. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | It may be sacrilege to some, but this has interested me for several years. You would be removing the weight of two diffs and two halfshafts, with almost all of that weight coming off the heavy front. You could use a lightweight two-piece carbon-fiber driveshaft. Who needs FWD on a pavement-driven sports car? I also have a Corvette, and I can't see much benefit in adding two diffs and two halfshafts; if I want to off-road, I'll rent a truck. See the Feb '08 issue of C&D for an 880-hp RWD Lamborghini Gallardo. |
