| Spec C Club Feedback Score: 0 reviews | I dont know about the stress cycles in this example. Like in the spoon example, you can put the spoon through any kind of stress imaginable that doesnt bend it and it will be no more likely to bend than it was before. Most aspects of the drivetrain are like that. If you dont deform it or break off a chip, it's just like it was before. Also, technically instant application of force would create an infinite amount of torque for that instant. Like you said Powerlabs, theres many different types of flex and whatnot (as well as this not being a perfect world of physics) that bring down this shock, but if there was any way possible to break the STi drivetrain with 0 traction on the tires, it would take almost nothing to do it with traction. I believe the halfshaft you were talking about probably had some kind of weakness before it got where it broke. |

I've practiced this some for autocrossing purposes. Even though autocross courses aren't really set up for drag racing starts, it does help to avoid the dreaded bog off the starting line. If I start at about 4.5K RPM's and smoothly release the clutch while smoothly pushing the gas to the floor, I can keep the car in boost for the launch without burning the clutch. When I do this right, it's a great feeling because there's no bog whatsoever and it just feels fast. Obviously doing this will wear the clutch out faster so I try not to 'practice' it too much. |

| Spec C Club Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Yea, I went to the track the other night for my first time. I have very little experience really launching my car. I sucked. Got a 14.3 at 100 completely stock. Im sure an extra second or so can be squeezed out with a better launch. |

| Spec C Club Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Yea, thankfully I dont have to worry about the 4-5. Im pretty good at shifting too. I can do it fast and effective, but my takeoffs suck. Im trying to be careful with my tranny though. I bogged big time on both my attempts. |
